Project Overview

The suburb of Hawthorndene turned 100 years old in October 2025, and a group of locals (supported by the Blackwood Action Group and Mitcham Council) got together and organised celebrations throughout the year.

The work

I have lived in the wonderful hills community of Blackwood and its surrounds for most of my life, and when I was asked to assist the H100 Committee with my creative services, I was more than happy to oblige. It was an absolute privilege to help bring such an amazing event to the community and help celebrate the suburb of Hawthorndene’s 100 year.

We supplied the creative for the celebrations to include branding, graphic design, advertising, signage and social media artwork.

Initially, every household in Hawthorndene received a flyer that could be used as an event calendar regarding the celebrations directly to their letterbox. This was supported with social media, press, posters and signage throughout the year leading up to the 100-year picnic on Hawthorndene Oval.
